The Hollis Social Library is once again open to the public, with parameters in place to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Starting on Monday, August 3, 2020, the Library will have open hours by appointment. “Browsing Appointments” will be scheduled for 60-minute sessions and will be for a limited number of patrons.

Libraries across the U.S. are initiating limited duration appointments as a way of balancing access to materials with patron and employee safety.
In keeping with Center for Disease Control recommendations, any individual over the age of two entering the Hollis Social Library will be required to wear a mask; patrons who do not have their own masks will be provided with one. Patrons will also be asked to sanitize hands upon entrance to the building and public restrooms will be available for emergency use only.
Social distancing recommendations of six feet of space between patrons and the staff will also be in effect.
For ease and safety of patrons we have added a self-checkout station to offer additional opportunity to socially distance.
Throughout the pandemic, the Hollis Social Library has continued to offer library services that do not require face-to-face interaction, including contact-less curbside pickup and a variety of virtual offerings, and we will continue to offer these services during all stages of reopening.
We appreciate your patience and support as we strive to provide a safe space for patrons and staff so that we may all enjoy the benefits of our library and good health during this unprecedented time.
Take good care,
Laura Klain, Library Director & Hollis Social Library Trustees
